This Week in KC (June '17 | Week 4)

It's been a pretty big week for me, here for one major reason: I found new employment and handed in my resignation to my current employer. To celebrate both a 50+% pay increase and my roommate's birthday, we went downtown to visit Up-Down, a bar/arcade combo off Southwest Boulevard.

When Friday rolled around, we took a trip out to grab some Freebird's and check out a 'Shells' concert at Hammerhand (you may recall the concert I went to toward the end of last month, also at Hammerhand, seen in this post). It was a fun, relaxing end to a long and eventful week.

All in all, this was a very eventful, momentous week for me. This new job seems extremely promising, and I'm hoping that this change will come with new inspirations for my own personal projects. I've felt pretty stifled in terms of my writing, so I'm hopeful that this change will bring with it a new burst of creative energy.

This week--the last week of June--is going to be considerably busy for me. I believe I've mentioned it in the past, but Retrospective Games is planning to participate in UE4's Summer Game Jam. This means that we'll have about 4-5 days to complete a game, on top of me having a full time job. The jam begins Thursday afternoon and ends on the 4th of July, so hopefully we'll at least have some semblance of a video to present by next Tuesday! I guess you'll see what we're working on when the next 'This Week in KC' post rolls around.

Until then, thanks for stopping by and I look forward to your continued readership!
