This Week in KC (June '17 | Week 1)

It's been a pretty long week for me. This was my last week in my previous apartment, so I spent my days off clearing out my old place, cleaning it, and repairing holes I'd left in the walls.

Leaving my old apartment behind is somewhat bittersweet: sweet because it was considerably expensive and bitter because I've made a number of memories there (good memories, bad memories, and memories that used to be good but no longer are). This is the second apartment I've had in my life, with the previous one being the place I occupied when I lived in Arlington, Texas.

National Doughnut Day provided me with a way to escape from the dullness of cleaning up my apartment. I took one of my roommates to Doughnut Lounge in Kansas City on Thursday. Doughnut Lounge is located in Westport and is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, by which founder Jake Randall raised nearly $30,000. I strongly recommend taking the time to check it out! They're open until 8:00 PM (or until they run out of donuts).

You can see photos like the image above on my Instagram account if you don't feel like waiting for the weekly blog post. Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to do quite a bit more when my weekend rolls around, again. Thanks for taking the time to check out this short post!
